The Cardiac Cath nurse will aid in the diagnosis of heart disease and help administer interventional procedures, including cardiac catheterizations, angioplasties, and valvuloplasties. This Cardiac Cath job also requires the RN to aid doctors in the implementation of pacemakers and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs). The Cardiac Cath RN must have an advanced understanding of cardiac anatomy and physiology and keep up with the constant technological advancements in the field.
