Title: PAworld.net / NPworld.us - PA / NP - Family Practice / Occup Medicine
JobID: 2454049-31573090
City: Kenai
State: AK
Description:

The MediCenter is a full service family practice / urgent care / occupational medicine clinic located south of Anchorage in Kenai, Alaska. Our patient base has grown and we need a motivated physician assistant / nurse practitioner with a desire to give quality care and earn an above average income.

A little about the MediCenter: The MediCenter has been serving the Kenai Area for 18 years. We do regular family practice (manage DM, HTN, Cholest, etc) with an emphasis on preventive medicine, take care of minor trauma, and handle large company accounts with our occupational medicine services.

Right now the MediCenter staff and Management are making a push toward more comprehensive preventive care. We track more closely patients healthcare needs, incorporating the use of equipment, training and tests. A few of these tests run are wellness labs, bone density scans, metabolic rate monitoring, and child development programs. About a third of our practice has already transitioned to preventive medicine, and in these past two years we have moved from spending most of our time with the common cold to catching and treating cancers, diabetes, pre-diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, child developmental problems and much more. What the medical staff does at the MediCenter in the town of Kenai definitely makes a difference. We also treat patients with chronic and acute pain with a new laser technology, integrating osteopathic manipulation, physical therapy, and massage therapy into the healing process.

Requirements: In order to give the quality of care that our patients deserve, the MediCenter needs a full-time PA/NP with experience in and a passion for family medicine, preventive care, and urgent care to help with the patient workload. We will accept applicants with little or no experience; however, such applicants must be energetic and have a desire to do everything asked and more to learn and be a contributor to the practice. One unusual requirement is that the provider applying must be able to demonstrate that they walk the walk, and not just talk the talk when it comes to preventive medicine, health, and wellness. They must be able to be an example of what we teach our patients.

Salary and Benefits: We are offering 94k - 108k base salary DOE. Typically, we at the MediCenter start PAs/NPs with a high minimum guarantee that is very competitive with the Alaskan workforce and transition them to percentage as their patient base is built. This percentage is based upon patient receipts, and most providers are thrilled to be on percentage at the time of switching. It is an opportunity with incredible earning potential as well as a chance to really influence the lives of others. We also offer three weeks paid vacation, health insurance, life insurance, and have a CME reimbursement program. We are also willing to consider working with Pas/NPs on Education Repayment Programs and moving expenses.

A little about life on the Kenai: The Kenai Peninsula is one of the most famous parts of the Banana Belt of Alaska. Located on the coast just south of Anchorage, the Peninsula has a lot to offer in terms of recreation. Not so common recreation includes some of the finest salmon fishing, hiking, camping, biking up paths to glaciers or hidden lakes, snow machining (otherwise known as snowmobiling), skiing, boating and a host of other activities. Also, there are the typical bowling, movies and dinner venues, as well as school sports, concerts and plays, and city league basketball/softball.
