Although the following information applies only to California RN's I believe it is something nurses in all states will Find of interest as this is something you could seek to obtain from your state board as well: From the Spring 2000 BRN Newsletter: (Summarized) The Board of Registered Nursing has ruled that it is within the RN's scope of practice to use laser therapy for patients if there is an approved standardized procedure. The RN must receive appropriate education and supervised practice to ensure competency in performing laser therapies, must be able to respond appropriately to complications, and must be able to respond to untoward effects of the laser procedure&ldots;etc&ldots; Some of the therapies and treatments this ruling would allow California RN's to practice would include hair removal, wrinkle removal, Removal of scars, moles, or other blemishes. Hi everyone, hope this issue finds you doing well. As one who grew up in Florida and now resides in the northern Virginia area, I'm just to happy to say it's summer time. That means sunshine and playtime. I hope as you make and carry out your summer plans that your travels are safe and your pleasures are great. As has been written repeatedly, you must find away to make time for your self, if you want to be the best nurse you can be. We've got some exciting news for you this month so let's get to it.
FREE DECAL OFFER Thanks to all of you who requested your free decal. We expect to be able to ship your decal in the next two to three weeks. Your responses to our offer was very good and we very quickly exceeded the 50 decal limit. So congratulations to all of you who wrote quickly enough to get one. We'll hold another similar give away next month. Remember, he who hesitates is lost.
RESUME DATABASE UPDATE Well as is usually the case we've run in to a few more bugs in our resume data base then expected, but we still anticipate its debut before the end of June. As we mentioned in last month's issue, this will be a major increase in our service to both nurses and employers. The data base will be searchable across many fields so that employers will be able to narrow in on nurses that best meet their needs. The entire data base will be password protected for both the nurses and the employers. We will issue a special bulletin once the program is on-line, so be watching your e-mail for our announcement.
FREE "@NURSES" E-MAIL ACCOUNT If you're submitting your resume to different employment sites, you might soon find yourself being added to lots of mailing lists. Some sites even release your information to third parties (that's how thy keep their services free). While Nurse-Recruiter.com does not sell, rent or otherwise release our users e-mail addresses, we cannot say the same for others. So we recommend that you get an on-line e-mail account. They are easy to use, they cut down on the junk mail you'll receive in your primary e-mail account. We have just added a new and much improved on-line e-mail server.
