AHRQ Bioterroism Planning and Response

The Agency for Health Research and Quality (AHRQ) maintains a comprehensive section on their site dealing with a wide variety of bioterrorism issues.  These include free web-assisted teleconferences, Research Projects, Tools and Resources, Conferences and Meetings, Evidence Reports, Research Reports and Agency Press Releases.


APIC Bioterrorism Resources

The Association for Professionals in Infection Control has an outstanding resource on bioterrorism.  The page includes information on a large number of biological agents, epidemiology, identification, treatment, training, preparedness, scenarios, threat, and vaccinations.


CDC - Emergency Preparedness and Response

From the Center for Disease Control and Prevention this section provides information about chemical and biological agents, press releases, training, contacts and other important information dealing with the public health aspects of bioterrorism, natural disasters and much more.  At the time of this writing, the page is divided in to three categories and had the following information available (use only as an example of what content might be available when you visit:

Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA)

Provides plans, services, hiring, and post-disaster help info from agency managing preparation, response, and recovery in the event of natural disasters.  This is an excellent resource for all types of emergency management with links to other governmental agencies including the Citizen Corps, Department of Homeland Security, and much more.  You'll also find useful checklists for emergency preparedness.


FDA - Counterterrorism

From the U.S. FDA is a vast resource on the subject of chemical and biological information.  Sections include: General Information, Frequently Asked Questions, Public Health Initiatives / Actions / Preparedness, Biological Agents, plus advice for consumers, links to other governmental resources, and information on conference.


NBC Med

Information about biological warfare and on-line courses, medical references, publications, and other related sites, plus of course any breaking news that you need to know.


Ready.gov

From the Department of Homeland Security, Ready.gov provides information, checklists, brochures, kit lists, and more on bioterrorism, chemical threats, explosions, nuclear blasts and radiation fall out.  Also provides links for citizen volunteers to get involved with community emergency preparedness programs.
